Project Details
Develop urban forest cover to enhance the natural, ecological habitat of the region and restore flora and fauna for environmental sustainability. The bank has planted 8,000 saplings across 6125+ sq. mt. of demarcated garden space to create healthy living for urban citizens. Various kinds of plantation interventions like Pollinator Garden, Miyawaki forests (Japanese method to grow self-sustaining forests faster) & plantation of State trees, Medicinal Garden, Dense plantation, Flowering and fragrance garden undertaken creating a mini biodiversity zone for the ecological flora fauna to thrive once the plantations mature.
Through this intervention the bank aims to develop mini forests for clean air and better living. Miyawaki forests grow 10x faster and are 30x denser than conventional plantations. Plantations support native flora and fauna, restoring ecological balance in urban areas. These forests improve air quality, reduce urban heat islands, and enhance groundwater recharge. Access to green spaces improves mental and physical health. Community-driven afforestation fosters ownership, pride, and collective action.
