Research says in cancer early detection and treatment are crucial for improving outcomes in cancer, making it highly treatable at early stages. With the rising incidences of cancer especially for women in the country the bank has designed a cancer care project especially catering to girls and women age group of 0-40 years, diagnosed with solid tumour cancer.

Women often bear a larger share of caregiving responsibilities for children and their family members. Amidst these a cancer diagnosis can disrupt the caregiving arrangements, potentially adding to financial burdens leading families / women to prioritize family needs over their own health. Such delays in seeking medical care and treatment potentially worsening the prognosis and aggravating financial crisis, as late-stage cancer often requires more intensive and expensive treatment.

The objective is to make cancer treatment affordable and accessible to females by partnering in treatment cost to reduce the economic burden essentially eroding savings of entire family or unvaryingly bringing them in the vicious debt trap as late-stage cancer often requires more intensive and expensive treatment.

Recognizing the critical need for accessible and cost-effective diagnostic facilities for underprivileged communities, the Bank has extended support towards the procurement of a PET-CT Scanner System with an 80-slice CT scanner and associated accessories.

The Bank's contribution supports the acquisition of this state-of-the-art cancer care equipment, enabling healthcare institutions to provide timely and accurate diagnosis for individuals who may otherwise have limited access to such specialized medical facilities.

The equipment is intended to facilitate the early detection and treatment of cancer, particularly among economically disadvantaged and underserved communities. Early diagnosis plays a vital role in improving treatment outcomes, increasing survival rates, and reducing the financial and emotional burden associated with advanced-stage cancer treatment.

Through this intervention, the Bank aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, improve access to critical cancer diagnostic services, and contribute towards better health outcomes for vulnerable sections of society.

• Critical financial support enables families from vulnerable communities, often surviving on daily incomes of just INR 300- INR 600, to access and complete essential cancer treatment without interruption, ensuring their child’s life-saving treatment journey continues uninterrupted.
• Early care not only provides a chance to live, but also eliminates social stigma as the child grows.
