HerStory

Turning History into HerStory, because every milestone matters. We feature and celebrate our woman brigade who have been an integral part of the RBL Bank story.

Mala Chaudhary has been with RBL Bank for over 12 years. Let’s know more about her journey.

Q: Which aspects of the Bank’s culture have been most empowering in your professional journey?

A: RBL Bank’s culture of meritocracy and inclusiveness has been incredibly empowering. Throughout my journey—be it during transitions across departments or while stepping into larger responsibilities—the Bank has recognized potential over position. I always felt heard, supported, and challenged in the right way. That culture has shaped not just my career trajectory, but also the way I now lead my team.

Q: From your first day to today - what's the one value at RBL Bank that has remained constant and continues to inspire you?

A: One value that has remained unwavering is ‘customer centricity’. From my early days in the Complaint Management Unit to my current role, I have seen how deeply this value is embedded across every function. It’s not just a tagline—it’s how we resolve issues, how we design processes, and how we measure success. It’s been my compass through every role I have managed.

Q: What's your proudest achievement at the Bank, and how did the organization enable it?

A: One of my most significant accomplishments was being awarded The CEO’s Supreme League Award for the Customer Complaints Reduction Project in August 2023. Throughout my time at this organization, I have been presented with various opportunities, beginning with leading the Complaints Management, and then moving to the IO Unit to ensure that accurate and comprehensive information is provided to the Internal Ombudsman for informed decision-making. I am now leading the RCA unit for credit cards, focusing on process improvements to enhance the speed and quality of complaint resolution. RBL Bank granted me full ownership and encouraged cross-functional collaboration. That level of trust from leadership was instrumental in turning an idea into a measurable impact.

Q: How has the Bank supported your growth both as a professional and as an individual?

A: One of the greatest aspects of this organization is the accessibility of its leadership, which encourages open communication with senior management without hesitation. Personally, it’s helped me build confidence, resilience, and a purpose-driven mindset that I carry beyond work as well.

Q: Looking back at your journey, what would you tell other women about building a career at RBL Bank?

A: RBL Bank is a place where women can thrive with confidence. My journey is proof that if you’re committed, curious, and resilient, there are no limits here. The organization doesn’t just offer opportunities—it actively supports you in seizing them. To every woman thinking of building a long-term career at RBL Bank: you will be seen, you will be challenged, and most importantly, you will be valued.
